Metal Tile

A material based off of a set of kitchen tiles, all done procedurally. Creating the star shape only using the tools within Substance Designer was the most challenging part of this material, but really improved my knowledge of the capabilities of the software. For the inner part of the star design I ended up using the shape mapper node to curve basic ovals into more natural looking arcs, then translated and combined them to get an organic shape. For the outer part of the star, the trapezoid transform node was extremely useful to get the taper and sharp point of a tear drop shape that I could mask to create an accurate outline.
